Columbus is a town in north-eastern United States, on the river Sayoto, the administrative center of Ohio. Columbus is an industrial, commercial, financial and cultural center of Ohio, site of railways and roads, has an international airport. The city has a great number of fantastic sightseeing which is so marvelous. In Columbus there are three universities, including Ohio State University, colleges, television and radio stations, and museums. Columbus was founded in 1812 and received its name in honor of Christopher Columbus. In 1816 Columbus is the capital of the state. One of the attractions of the city is State Capitol. Its construction began in 1839 under the supervision of Nathan Kelly. The building was built from local limestone, much of the work was done by inmates of local prisons. The Capitol is modeled on the archaic temples of ancient Greece. The main adornment of the building is austere Doric portico. Construction of the Capitol was conducted for 22 years. Columbus skyline is best known for the highest in 190-meter 41-storey Rhodes State Office Tower. Enjoy its wonderful art museum, museum of the Historical Society of Ohio, Ohio State University Museum, Contemporary Art Gallery Wexner Center. A number of large, elaborately decorated Victorian-style houses constitute the Victorian Village in the suburb of Columbus, located close to German Village consisting of strict brick houses of 19 century. To the west of downtown is the San Margherita - Quarter, built by Italian immigrants in the early 20th century. Come to this charming city and enjoy it.
