Bologna is the main town of the Emilia Romagna region, which is located on an area of 140 square kilometers at an altitude of 52 meters above sea level. Its population is approximately 410,000 inhabitants. The first traces of the presence of organized groups of people in this area date back to the Bronze Age. The city attracts thousands of tourists every year. The city has a large number of fantastic places and most of them are historical architectural monuments of the city. There is the oldest university in Europe. It was opened in 1088. The city is divided into old and new city. Old Town is located around 2 squares: Piazza Maggiore and Neptune Square, named after the fountain depicting the god of the sea, surrounded by mermaids. The most charming place is the Palazzo Comunale. It combines the style of various ages, housed a modest museum Kolletsoni Comunale D', whose collection includes works by artists of different times of Bologna.
